Get to Know Nate Meyers, BS’18

Originally from Indianapolis, Nate Meyers grew up visiting Indiana University with his alumni parents, falling in love with the school at an early age. He knew he wanted to study business and was drawn to the ranking and prestige of the Kelley School. Nate was also fortunate to be granted the Wells scholarship, making his decision easy to choose to attend IU.

During his four years as an undergraduate, Nate demonstrated strong leadership both within the business school and university wide. He served as president of the Office of the Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education Advisory Board, bringing together students of various majors and offering valuable student perspectives on leadership decisions. Within the Kelley School, Nate furthered his leadership skills as president of the Trockman Microfinance Initiative, a student run organization that brought Kelley students together to learn about microfinance and connect with Midwest finance organizations. Nate had the opportunity to travel to Rwanda with his club members at a time when Trockman Microfinance had a partnership with a microfinance cooperative in Rwanda. Prior to the trip, students did research on investments the cooperative was planning to make. Nate and his peers were able to leverage knowledge they gained at Kelley to make an impact in Rwanda’s community.

Currently receiving his MBA at Northwestern University, Nate serves as president of the Kellogg Marketing Club (KMC), one of the largest clubs on campus. In this role, he organizes events and invites speakers to provide valuable insights to marketing students. His experiences at Kelley have prepared him well for this leadership position, allowing him to thrive at Northwestern.

In an interview with IUAA Student Fellow Marley Anderson, Nate Meyers shares his journey through the Kelley School of Business, discusses how he is applying his IU education at Northwestern, and shares how he continues to stay connected to IU and IUAA today.
