Watch Party Campaign

Watch, Learn, Enjoy and Celebrate IU – Together!

Hosting a “watch party” is a fun and engaging way to bring alumni together, in-person or virtually, in the name of IU. Individual volunteers and chartered communities can choose the type of party they want to host—the possibilities are endless for this optional campaign.

Here Are a Few Examples of Watch Parties:

  • Watch the game with fellow IU / IU Indianapolis fans. Gather at a local restaurant or bar to cheer on the team or host a tailgate at the game.
  • Watch a performing arts performance. Host a group of alumni at a local venue before or after a performance or gather virtually to watch a live-streamed or pre-recorded performance by a student, ensemble, or IU faculty.
  • Gather to learn from the experts. Our world-renowned faculty from all campuses are sharing their lessons via recorded master classes and panel discussions. Gather other alumni to join you virtually to watch and learn together.
  • Watch IU Commencement and celebrate our newest alumni. The commencement ceremonies for all campuses are live-streamed. Gather to watch and cheer on as our students complete their educational journeys and join the alumni family.

Let’s Get Started

Follow these steps for initiating an optional watch party campaign. For more information or questions, contact your IUAA liaison.

Step 1: Activation

Complete and submit the Watch Party Campaign activation form, and let us know about the events you’re hosting this year.

Step 2: Resources

Once you activate the watch party campaign, you’ll receive an email that explains expectations, a link to access the available resources, and information about reporting requirements. The resources specific to this campaign include:

  • Social media graphics
  • Email copy
  • Official Watch Party poster template
  • Excel template for list of Watch Party attendees (virtual or in-person)

Step 3: Reporting

Let us know how your watch party(ies) this season went via the Watch Party Campaign reporting form. We ask that you include a list of attendees in Excel format. An Excel template will be provided.
