Governance jargon might be a little dry at times, but reports such as these are important pieces to the overall understanding of how our Association works. The bylaws can explain it in context with the rest of our business practices.

The Nominating Committee, led by Jeannie Sager, MA’03, met this fall and reviewed over 40 submissions.  The other members of the committee were:  Robert Johnson, BA’88, Phil Mark, BA’84, Alma Powell, BS’70, MS’72, Hon ‘12, and Jim White, AS’75, BS’79. The candidate pool was indeed deep with talents, backgrounds, and experiences needed to lead your Alumni Association in its third century.  These names represent that diversity.

Nominations for the 2014-15 board of managers are:

• Barbara Popp, BS’76, of New Albany, Ind, nominated for chairwoman-elect;
• Thao Nelson, BA’93, MS’96, of Bloomington, for vice chairwoman;
• Nate Feltman, BS/BA’92, JD’94, of Indianapolis, Ind, nominated for his first term as treasurer;
• Brieanna Quinn, BS’01,MA’04, from Noblesville, nominated for her third term as secretary.
• Jerry Miles, BS’70, and Lorelle Swader, BA’84, MLS’86, were selected as at-large members of the board. Their terms are three years as prescribed by the IUAA bylaws.
• Jefferson Shreve, BA’89, of Bloomington and Indianapolis, Ind., served as chairman-elect in 2013-14 and does not require a nomination for his upcoming term as chairman of the IUAA Board of Managers.

The committee selected 10 alumni to run for the open Executive Council member-at-large seats on the board. These nominations are:
