It is spirit week at IU Bloomington, which means it is time to put on your favorite IU swag to celebrate Homecoming! Read the full schedule. This week, IUAA will be hosting exciting events around campus to support and celebrate the IUB community. Homecoming is a special time where alumni and students can come together to support one another for their academic and professional achievements. On October 10, IU will be having its annual Distinguished Alumni Service Award (DASA) dinner to honor outstanding alumni who have contributed not only to IU but to their community and nation. Since 1953, these DASA recipients have donated more than $2 million in support of scholarships and grants for hundreds of IU students. What an achievement! On October 11, this year’s DASA scholarship winners will be announced at the luncheon in their honor. This is a great opportunity for these scholarship recipients to learn more about the DASA Club and how they can strive to be distinguished alumni in the future.
Also on October 11, join other alumni, students, staff, and faculty in watching your favorite IU organizations and community members march in this year’s Homecoming Parade. Last year, Bloomington rained on our parade (literally), but that did not stop our IU spirit! However, let’s keep our fingers crossed that Bloomington will reward us with sunnier weather for this year’s special day. If you are not able to be in Bloomington on October 11, don’t worry! Join us game day bright and early by registering for the Hoosier Huddle. This is a great opportunity to connect with old friends and share memories of your time at IU. It also gives you a chance to sneak off to see all of the new developments around campus. To help you get energized to cheer on IU at the Memorial Stadium, enjoy a catered meal from Wagon Wheel and a performance from the Marching Hundred. This year’s Hoosier Huddle will not be one to miss!
Whether you are celebrating IU Homecoming in Bloomington or in your hometown community, this is a great week to get to know other IU alumni and share memories about your journey as IU students and professionals!
