For the first time in history, IU, IUAA, and IU Athletics have established Homecoming dates for the next six years. A special thanks to Provost Lauren Robel and Fred Glass for their leadership and support to make this happen.
We are excited because it will allow everybody to plan better and make the most of the Homecoming experience.
Save these dates for a trip to Bloomington or an IU Homecoming Celebration in your community:
- 2014: October 18, IU vs. Michigan State *Change from original November 2014 date
- 2015: October 17, IU vs. Rutgers
- 2016: October 15, IU vs. Nebraska
- 2017: October 14, IU vs. Michigan
- 2018: October 13, IU vs. Iowa
- 2019: October 12, IU vs. Rutgers
Beginning in 2014, the IU Alumni Association will host the Distinguished Alumni Service Award ceremony on the Friday evening prior to Homecoming. This ceremony bestows the IU’s highest alumni achievement award, which seems a great way to kick off Homecoming Weekend in Bloomington. Other great traditions, including the late Friday afternoon Homecoming Parade down Kirkwood Avenue, student-led Homecoming Week activities, campus lectures and arts performances, and a memorable Homecoming Game Day experience all remain parts of this great tradition.
We are pleased to have Herff-Jones as our title sponsor for Homecoming 2014. Additionally, a grant from Visit Bloomington will allow us to enhance regional marketing and outreach for Homecoming 2014 Weekend.
Please share your ideas on how we can make Bloomington Homecoming a remarkable experience with Mike Mann at mitmann@iu.edu.
Go IU!
