Three outstanding volunteers will each receive the IUAA President’s Award, the IUAA’s highest volunteer award:

  • Leslie Kidwell, MA’13, of Indianapolis
  • Herman Oliver, MPA’81, of Indianapolis

The IUAA President’s Award was first bestowed in 1990 and honors the IU Alumni Association’s most dedicated volunteers who lead the way in their alma mater.

Created in 2019, the IUAA Volunteer Leadership Award honors those of our most committed alumni volunteers who have exemplified our values and are still writing the chapters of their alumni story through volunteerism and service.

Michele Johns, BS’82, JD’89, of Carmel, will receive the Gertrude Rich Award named in memory of the wife of Claude Rich, who served as chief executive of the IUAA from 1948-68.  It is presented to IUAA women volunteer leaders who have provided significant guidance to and impact on alumni programs or communities.
