Exceptional Volunteer Leaders Honored this Summer

I’m pleased to announce the 2024 recipients of the IUAA President’s Award and the IUAA Volunteer Leadership Award.

The IUAA Volunteer Leadership Award was created in 2019 and honors those of our most committed alumni volunteers who are still writing the chapters of their alumni story through volunteerism and service. This year, our awards go to:

  • Kareema Boykin, MSW’06, of Indianapolis, Ind.
  • Jason Gerdom, BS’97, of Watertown, Mass.
  • Josh Kornberg, BA’12, of Sellersburg, Ind.
  • Jim Trilling, BA’94, of Arlington, Va.

Established in 1990, the purpose of the President’s Award is to provide recognition for outstanding achievements by volunteers that are the most dedicated in their service. We are proud of such alumni who contribute immeasurably to their alumni communities, Indiana University, and the IU Alumni Association as a whole. Our 2024 class of President’s Award recipients is:

  • MaryEllen Kiley Bishop, BS’79, JD’82, of Carmel, Ind.
  • Michael Griffin, BS’71, of Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
  • Sallie Jo Tardy Mitzell, BS’81, MA’83, of Westfield, Ind.
  • Jeannie Sager, MA’03, of Zionsville, Ind.

Congratulations!  I look forward to celebrating these volunteers and their achievements during Alumni Leaders Weekend in June.

The IU Alumni Association is a global alumni organization that brings more than 774,000 IU graduates together to support one another and Indiana University throughout their lives. Learn more about the IU Alumni Association, or call (812) 855-4822.
