Homecoming 2015, You’re Invited!

If you have not made plans to come back for IU Homecoming (October 16 & 17, 2015), make sure to do so as you will experience a wonderful weekend of great programming and events.

Highlights include:

The Homecoming Parade

Friday, October 16. The route will once again run from 4th and Lincoln near downtown, up Kirkwood towards the Sample Gates and Indiana Avenue. The parade starts at 5:30 p.m. with a pep rally presented by IU Athletics afterwards at the Sample Gates.

Spirit Stations

Friday, October 16. These stations present a great opportunity for visitors to grab some cool IU and/or Homecoming swag and get information about all the events in town and around campus. Stop by one of three locations:

  • SpringHill Suites on College Avenue
  • The Indiana Shop on Kirkwood Avenue
  • DeVault Alumni Center on 17th Street

The Spirit Stations will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Back by popular demand – “A Taste of Mini University”

Friday, October 16. This year, we offer two great options:

  • Kelley Professor Greg Kitzmiller will serve as your host for a tour of the Upland Brewery on 11th Street. Space is limited to twenty people and the cost is $5 per person. Tour begins at 2:00 p.m. This tour is for those 21 and over, please.
  • SPEA Professor Kurt Zorn will lead a discussion about “The NCAA and the Changing Landscape of Division I Intercollegiate Athletics.” Professor Zorn’s presentation will take place in the Kelley Dining Room at the DeVault Center, also beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Cost is $5 per person.

Alumni Leaders Recognition

Alumni Leaders Recognition will take place during Homecoming Weekend. Stay tuned for more details from Rachael McAfee and the Alumni Relations team!

Hoosier Huddle VIP event

Get your Hoosier on! – Hoosier Huddle VIP event behind the DeVault Alumni Center on Saturday, October 17. The event is invitation only (which you all are invited to) starting at 12:30 pm. For $15 per person, enjoy amazing food, beer, wine and spirits from local vendors, IU giveaways, great music, appearances from the Marching Hundred and IU Cheerleaders and more! Then, head into Memorial Stadium at 3:30 to cheer on the Hoosiers to victory over Rutgers!

There is a lot to look forward to this year and we are excited to have you back in B-town in a few weeks. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. GO IU!
