This year’s IU Day is April 10, and it’s sure to be a worldwide celebration of all things IU. There are plenty of ways to celebrate, such as watching IU videos and games, wearing your favorite IU gear, and attending official campus and community events.
What is IU Day?
IU Day is the world’s biggest IU party, but it’s also a day to reflect on the incredible memories you’ve made at this university. Whether you participate individually or with a group, we ask that you raise the IU banner high on April 10! This is an opportunity to participate in crowdfunding initiatives, service projects, or attend or host a special event to celebrate our alma mater. To find an IU Day celebration near you, check out the IU Day event calendar.
Share the IU Love
We also want to spread the IU love far and wide on social media! Share your celebration or your personal IU story with the hashtag #IUday. That way, you can connect with IU alumni from all around the world. Whether you’re hosting an official IU Day event, wearing your favorite IU gear, baking a cream and crimson cake, or just celebrating with friends—we’d love to see it! If you activated an IU Day campaign through the Volunteer Leaders Intranet, a treasure-trove of social media assets were unlocked for you. If you have questions about this material or how you can promote IU Day online, please each out to your liaison.
Giving Back
One aspect of IU Day is crowdfunding initiatives. As we look toward IU’s future, we want to ensure that students in the years to come are able to enjoy the same incredible experience. That’s why we ask for your help in giving back to the place that gave us so many connections worth celebrating. To see all of the different crowdfunding initiatives being supported on IU Day this year, visit the Fundly giving page. This is a cool snapshot of innovative programs being offered by IU, which include many of your scholarship programs. Twenty-one chartered alumni communities are hosting a crowdfunding campaign this year – let’s support them in their efforts! As a matter of fact, last year alone our alumni groups were able to raise more than $30,000 for IU student scholarships through IU Day crowdfunding initiatives. Wow!
Thank you, IU Family
All-in-all, we don’t care how you participate in IU Day, just as long as you do! And above all, thank you for making every day IU Day across the globe – you truly are the pride of Indiana.
