With summer vacations coming to a close and back-to-school in full gear, IU alumni are starting to take stock of what’s next in their career. Much like the January “New Year’s Resolution” season, we tend to see an uptick in alumni searching for career advice in the Fall. Finding focus in order to be more engaged and thrive where we are in our careers may be exactly what we need in order to feel more fulfilled professionally.
Caroline, Erin, and I have used the summer to add additional content and knowledge to our ever-expanding coaching topics. From specialization in full day team retreats to benchmarking with other alumni associations around the country, we are dedicated to bringing relevant content to you and the alumni you serve.
Besides the one-on-one coaching we have traditionally offered, we have successfully launched organizational leadership development workshops that our coaches can customize to meet the needs of the client’s team. With half-day and full-day options for corporate, non-profit, and higher education clients, we have covered topics that include team communication, change management, StrengthsFinder, team building, navigating a multi-generational workplace, negotiation/conflict management, leadership lessons for new and emerging managers, and goal setting sessions.
One recent alumna client wrote:
“Everyone was talking about what a great day we had together. I can’t thank you enough. You were exactly what we needed! The last session, in particular, Emili’s StrengthsFinder session, was so meaningful and time well spent! I’m so grateful to you both!”
For example, an in-depth StrengthsFinder team session for a group of 10 would take a half day (3.5 hours) and may include the following agenda:
- Introductions (20 minutes)
- What are your strengths? (15 minutes)
- Putting strengths into action (25 minutes)
- Bio break (10 minutes)
- Team strengths (15 minutes)
- Team activity (60 minutes)
- Bio break (10 minutes)
- Team member appreciation and recognition (40 minutes)
- Wrap up and action plan (15 minutes)
Depending on the needs of each group determines which types of activities, amount of time spent on team discussions, individual reflection, follow up activities written for the team lead, etc. Our coaches meet with you for an intake session to determine what is best. Whether a group training or workshop is needed for a group of alumni or in your professional world, consider our coaches to deliver the high quality content at our special IUAA rates (compared to other facilitators).
