Welcome, Mike King, Executive Director of Finance and Operations

We are thrilled to announce that Mike King will be joining the IU Alumni Association as our new Executive Director of Finance and Operations. In this role, Mike will oversee the financial strategy and business operations that support our mission to engage and connect with Indiana University alumni worldwide.

Mike brings more than 25 years of experience in financial leadership, project management, and strategic initiatives to his new role with IUAA. Most recently, he served as Senior Finance Project Manager at Bon Secours Mercy Health, where he led major merger and acquisition integrations and managed a portfolio of cost-saving transformation initiatives, delivering significant financial impact. His career also includes leadership roles as Director of National Service Operations and, later, Vice President/CFO of a national service-provision organization under the Berkshire Hathaway umbrella.

Mike’s connection to IU runs deep. A proud alumnus, he earned his MBA from the Kelley School of Business in 1991. He actively supported IU as President of the Cincinnati Chapter of the IU Alumni Association and as a member of the IUAA Executive Council.

Outside of work, Michael has served as an elected school board member for the Southwest Local School District in Ohio, where he was instrumental in securing funding for major facilities upgrades. His leadership extends to community service, including volunteering with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Two years ago, he and his fiancée, Michelle, an IU alum and a lecturer at Kelley, chose to make Bloomington their home.

Mike’s expertise, commitment to IU, and passion for excellence make him an outstanding addition to our team. Mike will begin his service with IUAA on January 30. Please join us in giving him a warm welcome to the IU Alumni Association!
