Event scheduling and religious holidays
It is the policy of the IUAA to not schedule events on dates that might adversely impact participation. To assure that the proper sensitivity is maintained with regard to religious holidays and potential schedule conflicts, the IUAA will observe dates on which no events will be publicized by our staff or volunteers.
Major religious holidays where known conflicts are likely to arise include, but are not limited to, Rosh Hashanah, Ramadan, Yom Kippur, Passover (first two days), Easter, and Christmas. Please refer to the Religious Holidays and Observances resource that Indiana University has provided when you plan your event.
Although the IUAA remains aware of and respects these religious holidays, we recognize that sometimes events are scheduled on these dates by other organizations (Big Ten, Summit League, or NCAA, for example) to which the university belongs. Exceptions to the news blackout may occur when these events involve university or IUAA units.
