Introducing New IUAA Websites

The last time we talked (was it ALC, 2016?), I hinted about the new IUAA websites that Alumni Marketing has been building for IUAA and its communities. It’s almost time for launch (April 27!). And we all have A LOT to look forward to. The new IUAA websites — including those built for our chartered communities — have some great features that you and our readers have been asking for:

  • They’re responsive. Translation: they look great on phones, tablets, AND desktops.
  • They’re  accessible to a broader audience. (Accessibility is a recent IU requirement. As an IU alum, I’m really proud of my University for making this a priority. Read more about IU’s accessibility efforts.)
  • They’re IU brand compliant. Readers will have no doubt they are on an IU site. (Harness that brand! Again, this makes my IU heart beat loud and proud. )
  • They’re audience-centered. That is, they offer the information our primary audience is looking for, in places they look, and on devices they use.
  • AND: All IUAA sites will be built in the IU framework, which offers a rock-solid user experience.

In short, we will all have a much better alumni.iu.edu experience. Boom!

So that you know exactly what to expect when this site goes live, I’ve created a webcast and a handout. I’m making slides available and I’m holding video conference office hours. And I’ve created a document of all of the new community website addresses.

I hope we get a chance to see one another in person during Cream & Crimson Weekend this June. Until then, watch for the new site on April 27!
