It’s time to exercise your duty as members in the Alumni Association: vote in the IUAA election! Just flip to page 24 in the Indiana University Alumni Magazine (see image at right), clip out the ballot, complete it, and send it to me. If you want to keep your magazine in pristine condition, just make a copy. Get it to the IUAA by April 19.
What? I thought that didn’t happen until June! No, you may be confusing the IUAA Election with the Trustee Election. I’ve outlined the differences below.
An Alumni Leader’s Guide To IU Elections
IUAA Election | IU Trustee Election |
---|---|
Happens in March and April | Happens In June |
Election process for alumni volunteers to Board of Managers and Executive Council | Election process for alumni-elected trustees of IU |
Confirmation of a ballot – not a contested election | One person from (sometimes) many is elected |
IUAA members vote/confirm ballot | IU degree-holders vote |
Paper ballot in the IU Alumni Magazine | Electronic voting, or if requested, a paper ballot |
Find information at the IUAA corporate website | Find information at the IU Trustee Election website |
We have eighteen outstanding volunteers on the ballot: twelve slated for Executive Council and six for Board of Managers. I couldn’t be happier with the work of the Governance Committee to identify these persons in October each year in preparation for the election.
If you are tech-savvy like many IU alumni are, feel free to complete, scan, and send your ballot to rekeith@iu.edu. I appreciate all members participating in this easy task. Happy Election!
