MyIU.org update offers modernized e-commerce, engaging content

A redesigned MyIU.org was released on August 23. With this update, giving to IU is easier, and alumni content, calendars, and resources are now centrally located.

“The IU Alumni Association has long-offered helpful content, engaging resources, and events to alumni and friends. Now—in collaboration with the IU Foundation—it’s all in an easily-accessible location with a brand-new Giving site,” said Tricia Riveire Stumpf, CEO of the IU Alumni Association. “We are excited for our users to easily find what they need, encounter new opportunities, and continue engaging with the university we love.”

The redesign offers four sections of content that work together to create an improved digital experience.

Giving

Giving offers an e-commerce experience comparable to most online stores. Users can search, filter, and sort to discover funds easily. A quick-give option offers a shortcut for those who already know what they want to support. Crowdfunding procedures remain the same, but the pages can now be personalized and enhanced using a new page style.

Pro-tip for those who promote scholarships: Fund pages now have permanent links that can be shared without Give Now buttons.

The new checkout system features an expanded menu of payment options, including PayPal, American Express, Discover, and Japan Credit Bureau (JCB). Donors will soon be able to use Apple Pay, Google Pay, and direct bank withdrawal.

Alumni Resources

The Alumni Resources section offers the IUAA’s most requested resources, all in one convenient spot. This section includes access to alumni networks and communities, the Class Notes form, popular services like alumni email, and links to IU resources like campus maps and transcript request forms. Those who sign in have access to the online IU Alumni Magazine and nearly 10 years of its archives. Plus, IUAA members can view the Alumni Directory. (Members: the Alumni Resources section replaces the Member Hub from the previous site.)

Events

Events continues to offer the same central IU Advancement calendar with an updated style to match the rest of the site.

IU Stories

Finally, we’ve added IU Stories, which includes all the features from Pride of IU, allowing readers to immerse themselves in a variety of great Indiana University content.

If you held a MyIU.org account in the old system, you’ll need to create a new one. But now you have more options for signing in using your email address or an existing social media account.
