Like many of you, we have loved watching IU take the field this season and are excited that our football student-athletes have the opportunity to compete this fall.
Even though we are unable to support in-person game watches this season, many of you have been asking what you can do to engage alumni members around our shared pride for IU. We want to provide you with ideas to keep your audience engaged virtually during this time.
Here are some ways you can spread and share IU spirit with your communities through email and social media:
- Encourage alumni to order carry-out or delivery from a venue you typically use for game watches, or IU-owned businesses in your area.
- Engage alumni via social media during the game around the following themes and encourage them to use the hashtag #GOIU for a chance to have their photo shared.
- Best dressed Hoosier pet
- Most spirited Hoosier room
- Best tailgate set-up at home
- Food inspired posts or recipes for game days
- Share links to IUAA videos related to IU football:
- Share IU images and content related to spirit and pride. Check out this shared folder for images and IU football trivia questions. You can also search for “football” or “spirit” on the main IU website.
- Encourage alumni to show off their IU Athletics pride on “Spirit Fridays” using these Zoom backgrounds.
- Several groups have been hosting regular pre-game virtual get-togethers that are open to all alumni. Check out IUAA Events each week and share any upcoming virtual events with your alumni members.
Thank you for all you do to serve IU and engage our alumni – especially now. Go IU!
