In this week’s Emerging Alumni Leaders Spotlight, Daniel Malone, BGS ’09, shares his IU experience and path to becoming President of IUAA’s Greater Cincinnati, Ohio Chapter with IUAA Student Fellow Kaitlin Scott.

Upon graduation from IU Bloomington, Daniel began his career as a legal assistant. He later pivoted and accepted a position as an insurance claims adjuster in Cincinnati, Ohio. Starting out as a claims adjuster allowed Daniel to have a “bird’s eye view” of who he was working for, understand the people he was serving, and learn their stories. He said, “one of the best things is knowing your why and who you’re doing it for.” Daniel has been working in insurance compliance for about seven years, covering diverse contexts such as investments, property, casualty, and automotive. Currently, he works for American Family Insurance in the Auto Center of Excellence.
